Who We Are:
From the creators who brought you the PTA and the William B. Travis Foundation, meet the Tiger Task Force! We are a new committee for role models, parents/guardians, grandparents—anyone in our Travis community who wants to pitch in and make a difference. We roll up our sleeves to help Travis and the William B. Travis Foundation with campus repairs, projects, and event support, while having fun and building community. Whether you’re handy, have power tools, or have grit to get it done, we’d love for you to join!
The Tiger Task Force is a joint effort from the Travis Foundation and the Travis PTA. We are excited to be working together to help accomplish big things for our Travis community!
What We Do:
Campus Repairs & General Help: From fixing playground equipment to hauling supplies, painting, mowing, or setting up events, we roll up our sleeves wherever Travis needs us.
Special Skills & Connections: Not into power tools? No problem. We also need people who can gather bids, recommend pros, coordinate vendors, or lend community connections.
Build Community Spirit: Beyond the work, we show up for each other—strengthening the Travis community with socials, celebratory downtime, and a visible, positive presence at school events.
Some Projects Already on the Radar for 2025-26:
Sandbox refresh
Sprinkler repairs
Library update support
Foundation Gala setup & breakdown
Fence prong repair (welding)
Wasp nest spraying
Mowing/trimming/landscaping tasks
Power washing projects
Removal of dead bushes
Hang new college flag(s) in cafeteria
Other campus needs as they arise (think light bulb changes, etc)

All submissions are subject to approval by PTA, Foundation, and school leadership.
Join the Crew
Have a special skill, a helpful hobby, or just the grit to get it done? We’d love to have you join the Tiger Task Force and help keep Travis strong, safe, and thriving.
First, complete the sign up form to express interest in joining the Tiger Task Force! At the end of the form, you have the option of answering additional questions to let us know what you would like to get out of the Tiger Task Force. You will be contacted soon.
Next, register with HISD’s volunteer program is called Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS). To volunteer on campus during the school day, each volunteer must renew their VIPS registration annually and pass a background check each school year. This background check is free, but may take up to 2 weeks for approval.
While there will be plenty of Tiger Task Force opportunities that do not require VIPS registration, we highly recommend registering.
Finally, we encourage all new and returning families to join PTA for the 2025-2026 school year. Parents, Grandparents, Guardians, Community Members, and Educators are welcome to join - every membership counts! We are an official PTA, affiliated with Texas and National PTA. Annual memberships are $7.
