Welcome to Travis

Hello and welcome!

I am truly honored to serve as the Travis PTA President for the 2022-2023 school year.

Our family has been at Travis Elementary since 2019. We were welcomed with open arms wishing us well! And because of that welcome, I began to volunteer in school. I was excited and inspired by the dedicated and enthusiastic administration, faculty, staff, families, and volunteers. Everyone at Travis is focused on each student as an individual learner, both academically and socially.

As our first year at Travis progressed, I found the Travis PTA was a wonderful opportunity to contribute further as a volunteer. I began to serve as Vice President-Parent Involvement in Summer 2020. Little did we all know that three school years would be impacted by the Covid Pandemic. The Travis PTA Mission of advocacy, collaboration, and engagement guided us through the uncertainty of these past years. And day by day, with thoughtful reflection, planning, and flexibility, we have returned to our traditions, started new ones, and celebrated with our Travis Community.

I am proud to serve alongside our 2022-2023 Travis PTA Board, Committees, and Volunteers. We offer a range of personal and professional experiences as we support our school and community and have fun along the way!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered at Travis over the years. It is the history, journey, and legacy that inspires our future volunteers. If you are interested in finding your place in our Travis volunteer community, please reach out to me at president@travispta.org.

With excitement and gratitude, I wish you well!

Welcome to Travis Elementary School! As principal of Travis, I’m proud to be part of our strong school community supported by the efforts of our Travis PTA. At Travis Elementary, we value the whole child, and our Travis PTA helps the school provide engaging opportunities for both academic and social/emotional learning. For example, our Travis PTA provides for our acclaimed Travis gardens and gardening program, along with essential support for field trips and grade-level campouts. I started my elementary teaching career twenty years ago at Travis Elementary, and it’s an honor for me now to be principal of Travis and involved with such a wonderful community of families, students, teachers, and staff.

Wishing you well,

David Church
